This years ride will be June 2-4, 2017. Here are some updates that we are super excited about:
This year we are riding from Banff to Cochrane on Day 1 and Cochrane to Aldersyde (south of Okotoks) on Day 2.
Last year we changed the route on Day 2 to include some MAJOR hills. We listened to your feedback (thank you for filling out the survey), and are pleased to report that these hills are GONE!! Instead of going up and down hills on the second half of Day 2, you will enjoy a lovely (and much flatter) route through Turner Valley. We will ride past Okotoks on HWY 7, and end at a recreation centre in Aldersyde.
Speaking of the ending location, we are PUMPED for our grand finale location this year. Our finale will be located at Crescent Point Regional Field House, where we will have activities (including bouncy castles and other toys) for children while your families wait for you to ride in.
We also have a beautiful lunch spot planned for Day 2 – located at the Brown-Lowery Provincial Park on Plumber’s Road. This lunch spot is the perfect spot – great scenery, washrooms, and an excellent location which is situated halfway through the day.
All in all, we are incredibly excited about the changes to Day 2 and we hope you are too!
If you register before January 17, 2017, you receive VIP status, including a $20 gift card to Alpenland! Stay tuned for details on the VIP status.
Like the past few years, the ride in 2017 is raising money for the “All Aboard Fund”. The funds from this program are used for child sponsorships for summer camp at SABC. We are THRILLED to be able to provide financial support for children to hear the gospel in new and exciting ways.
